Beyond the Tools: Navigating the Messy, Relational Work of Knowledge Brokering

October 23 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT
Virtual Event

Join us for an honest conversation about what it really takes to facilitate collaboration across differences. We’ll explore why technical tools and frameworks, while valuable, are insufficient on their own, and what an adaptive, relationally rich practice of knowledge brokering looks like. This session, facilitated by Cami Velasquez and Emma Parkerson from Systems Design Lab,  centers collective inquiry over answers, inviting you to surface shared challenges and explore what might be possible when we name the complexity together. We’ll explore questions like:

How do we create common ground for authentic collaboration when our systems pull us toward the familiar?
How do we navigate power dynamics and foster trust across diverse cultural perspectives?
What would it mean to develop an adaptive, relationally rich practice that situates tools within a deeper understanding of the human systems they serve?

This event is open to all, with particular relevance to emerging knowledge brokers and those starting to explore the field. Join us to share struggles, compare notes, and envision new possibilities together. Ahead of the event, be sure to read their recent blog for EKBN to learn more.
