The Language of Relationships & Collaboration

Knowledge brokering is a relational practice, requiring careful thought about how we position ourselves relative to others, and how our language communicates power and positionality. In this session, we are joined by Dr. Simon Sjolund of Mälardalen University in Sweden whose work, Discourses of collaboration and participant positioning in research-practice partnerships, will help us surface the ways in which language shapes work across research and practice boundaries. This event is going to be interactive, with an opportunity to explore and discuss instances of language and ways to reflect on how we can navigate power dynamics and cultivate more meaningful relationships as knowledge brokers.
